SKYE MEP is seeking a licensed Senior Mechanical Engineer for a full-time position. This is a career-building opportunity for a motivated individual who wants to work with an experienced team at an engineering firm with a rich history in San Antonio, spanning over 50 years. Our wide-ranging portfolio includes Commercial, K-12, Higher Education, Healthcare, Historic Preservation, Light Industrial, and Design-Build projects.
The successful candidate will be well-qualified in designing mechanical/HVAC systems and will serve as the first point-of-contact for clients in a project management role. As leader of the Mechanical Division, the candidate will guide and mentor younger engineers in their careers along with reviewing their work.
Applicants should be prepared for project management, construction cost estimating, design work, specification writing, submittal reviews, reviewing pay applications, and significant interaction with clients. The candidate should also be familiar with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and be able to work with a team of people from other disciplines, including Electrical, Plumbing, Architectural, Structural, and Civil.
The candidate should have the following minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited program
Licensed to practice engineering in the State of Texas (P.E.)
10+ years of experience in HVAC system design
Familiar with the most recent Building, Energy, & Mechanical codes (ICC Code body)
5 years of experience with AutoCAD and REVIT software
Current valid Driver License and insurable driving record, own reliable transportation
Professional appearance and excellent communication skills
Preference will be given to candidates with the following additional qualifications:
Project management
Plumbing design
LEED Certification for Building Design and Construction
Commissioning experience

Occasional job site visits will be necessary which require the ability to walk, stoop, bend, climb ladders, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
